What is CV Boot Deflection Guard?
CV Boot Deflection Guards are stainless steel plates designed to deflect debris away from the outer CV boot to help prevent rupturing or damage. These guards are fitted using the original bolts and holes so no drilling required.
What are the benefits?
Reduces the risk of premature damage to the CV boot by debris or sticks. 304 marine grade stainless steel for longevity and rust prevention.
What vehicles does this suit?
The following vehicles:-
- 2021 Dmax
- 2021 Mux with updated front suspension links
- 2021 Mazda BT50 with the shared Isuzu components
Installation
Tools required – socket set
Installation Time - Approximately 20 mins depending on the tools available and work space.
Difficulty – Basic mechanical knowledge required
N.B - If you are running aftermarket shocks, Please check clearances to avoid contact. In the case of larger shocks you can simply bend the shield slightly to create the clearance needed to avoid damage to the shock. I cannot be held responsible for these issues if the installer does not address this.
If the shield is bent excessively or you have an excessive amount of droop (achieved by too long shocks, bending the factory droop steps to gain more droop or poorly designed UCA's which don't limit droop correctly) the shield can contact the knuckle on full droop and, worst case scenario, damage the ABS line. If you suspect this is the case for your vehicle the shields can be modified using this template to gain more clearance at the hub. The design of the shield has been adjusted slightly to accommodate for this.
